Sorry to be bitter AND SHIT but I’m pissed off. Not only do I think that this particular piece of “work” is not funny and stupid as fucking shit, but then he gets an award in the women’s category. Very clever Webbys. Very cool. Very neat. Very hip. Very magic tricky. Very neat and cool and fun.
Yesterday I (College Humor) got a Webby and I was happy with the Webbys. Today I find out about this and I hate them. STUPID IDEA. JULIETTE LEWIS IS BARELY IN THIS PILE OF TRASH.
But, Kelly, clearly that actor so completely captured the essence of what it is to be a woman! I mean, girls really say that stuff!
In those few minutes of footage, he made a complete transformation. He was like Robert DeNiro becoming Jake LaMotta or Daniel Day Lewis ceasing to be for months on end so that Daniel Plainview may come to life. The creator of those videos didn’t just play a girl. He was a girl.
Also, he wore like three different dresses and a wig. That shit’s tough.
I’m really glad we rewarded the guys who issued in a new wave of generalization and socio-cynicism. Not jokes, but a joke-flavored substitute.
As much as I hate seeing this gender-inequality-as-PR-stunt, I get the feeling the last person women want speaking for them is a fat white dude in his late 20’s writing on his blog.
