I, like most all of you, saw my first indie improv show at Under St. Marks. I still remember how thrilling it was to actually perform there for the first time. It felt like a rite of passage.
The charming little black-box theater is in danger of closing because the building it’s in is being sold. However, Horse Trade (who run USM) have a plan to save the space, but they need financial support.
If you’ve ever been to—or in—a show at Under St. Marks, you know it’s an important place. Not just for improv students looking for stage time, but for theater and comedy in general.
